The economy could benefit greatly from the growth of the engineering industry on a European level. How can the Belgian engineering sector partake?
Europe’s responsibility
The engineering industry is playing a huge role in the recovery of the European economy. According to EESC, the industry could help to increase the industrial output to more than 20% of the GDP by 2020.
In order to grow, Europe needs more investments from companies and to decrease the unemployment rate.
Europe needs to become an attractive base for businesses, as the attractiveness of the industry will create competitiveness and the necessary volume of output and employment.
In addition to this, research funding and legislation could be adapted more toward the industrial needs.
