Focus & Pace: Tips for Success from Fuse Engineering’s Ari Zeitoun

Fuse Engineering is a recruitment consultancy specialising in Engineering profiles.  As we are constantly on the search for new talent in the engineering field, we are also steadily looking for new people to join our Fuse Engineering offices located in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Luxembourg, and Rotterdam. 

To gain an insight about what it is like to work and succeed at Fuse Engineering, we sat down with Ari Zeitoun, Team Leader of Fuse Engineering Brussels.  Ari started in Engineering Recruitment in October of 2016.  Beginning his career as a trainee, he has evolved over the years, learning the attitudes and practices needed to succeed in a recruitment consultancy.  Since then, the Senior Consultant from Fuse Engineering has grown a lot professionally and experienced amazing rewards due to his great results.  What does it take to succeed as a recruitment consultant at Fuse Engineering?  We caught up with Ari to learn what drives him every day. 

According to Ari, attitude at work is a huge factor in becoming successful in your position as a recruitment consultant:

“You need to be business minded, that’s number one.  It’s easy to get distracted because it’s a fun job working for Fuse Engineering, but you have to stay focused.  What I mean by that is you have to dress well, come to work early, get ready in that right mindset before coming – it’s all about hard work.  It’s really this corporate attitude that drives me and has helped me to get to where I am today.”

Because we are constantly looking for new talent for our brands, we have many new trainee recruitment consultants.  These new consultants are trained by our very own FSM Academy Sales Trainers, but we also recognise the power of learning from your colleagues which is why our new consultants are always paired up with seniors.  What advice can someone in a Senior position like him, give to those beginning a new job?

“My main piece of advice is very basic but I think it’s very true: it’s not a race – everyone needs to take their own time.  For example, it was my 4th month when I placed my first candidate in a job vacancy, but in that same month I managed to place 3 happy candidates.  I realised it’s okay to work at your own pace if you are learning how to deliver high quality work.  Stay focused, don’t give up, if you just hang in there you will realise how much you are capable of achieving.”
